Dear HR, Training and L&D Department,

 Build vs Buy: Part 1: Critical Skills are missing in Staff

TLMM recently launched our short learning series workshop and the aim was to design brochures for an event.  However the staff (21-22 in age) were not able to use various critical skills in action to deliver a well designed brochure.  They prefer to buy a template out of the internet. We learnt that this young generation coming to workforce are a ‘given generation’. The answers are all given through the smart phone. 

This new age of workforce has birth ridiculous skills of ‘not being able to use their own critical thinking to solve a problem’.

As an organisation we should not ‘buy’ resources or search for better talents, but use the right training skills to educate and build what we have again and again and again until Critical skills are embedded into this new age of workforce.
