If you are in charge to either design, coordinate or hire trainers for your learning programs, you must know how to become a thriving leader or maybe increase your current leadership skills. 
Here are 10 interesting tips shared to you by TLMM, that every HR, Training and L&D People should have and further cultivate into your SOPs.

  1. The thriving leader knows you must become one because leaders are not born, we are all born with the capacity to lead we simply need to nurture it.
    1. Put aside your positions here. The question is:  How would you know when you are a leader?  You will only know it when you see your people or bosses above you give you praises and definitely see your value being contributed towards the vision of the company.

  1. The thriving leader steals from his influences. This simply means why recreate the wheel. Thriving leaders learn from the best of the best and re-purpose the material with their own spin.
    1. You have to keep on studying your bosses behaviors & performances; and what you see that does not work best, you do it better

  1. The thriving leader apprentices under a master. All good leaders know followership is a predecessor to leadership. This is how we all learn.
    1. Take your bosses out for lunch.  Keep on asking questions and just listen to them.

  1. The thriving leader is stubborn about the right things. You choose the places to stand your ground and never give up.
    1. Don’t be a ‘LALANG’!  Be firm on  your decision with the right rooted facts

  1. The thriving leader cultivates patrons. Great leaders know it's about serving others at all times.
    1. Can you keep on forgiving people?  You need to be humble and SMILE!

  1. The thriving leader goes where creative work is already happening. A smart and savvy leader will not try to convert uninterested people. Instead they go to where great leaders are budding.
    1. Be brave and network with intellectual colleagues/ bosses often

  1. The thriving leader collaborates with others. Really great leaders know and understand it is all about collaboration, teamwork and being selfless.
    1. You can never prosper individually

  1. The thriving leader practices in public. Leaders aren't afraid to share their passions or call out their weaknesses, and better yet know how to leverage their weaknesses to add value.
    1. This goes with point 5.  Can you have a humble and non-ego look that you aren’t afraid to tell your weaknesses to your staff or your bosses but make that as your bullet to go the extra distance

  1. The thriving leader always works for something. Aspiring and established leaders know apprenticeship is key to becoming the best of the best. By understanding this you are always learning and always apprenticing.
    1. Can you put in extra time over weekends to work on an aspiring project which is not part of your KPI?

  1. The thriving leader masters many crafts. Great leaders understand you must acquire whatever skill it takes to get the job done sometimes.
    1. Can you go attend a training yourself if your company don’t pay for you? Are you willing do get your axe sharpened even further?
