Action Based Learning Vs Content Based Learning

Action Based Learning Vs Content Based Learning
Dear HR, Training and L&D Champions,
Action Based Learning Vs Content Based Learning
Some of you are L&D and Training Champions and you may argue with the reasons of why we need to emphasise only on Action Based Learning…so here is the key differences of Content Based Learning versus Action Based Learning.
Completion Rates of the Training Module
If its content based learning: Learners will complete ply 15% of the training program
If its action based learning: Learners will complete 60% of the training program
Behavioural Changes of Learner
If its content based learning: No behavioural change. Learners forget 75% after 6 days
If its action based learning: Permanent behavioural change that impacts self, department, organisation
Engagement of Learner
If its content based learning: 4% of learners engage with content and interact with peers
If its action based learning: 87% of learners engage with content & interact with peers
Knowledge Retention of Learner
If its content based learning: 5% only is retained if content is not remembered
If its action based learning: 90% is retained after learners take action in classroom
Time to ponder: Content-based training platforms and systems might give employees the illusion of having knowledge, but at the end of the day they’re only going to remember 5% of what they learned…….… So, what would the ideal platform look like?…to train employees and make sure they really retain knowledge
Until our next learning article,
Happy Learning.
